notice.
What we do with the details you send us, and what we do not do with them. Short, because we do not do much with them.
1. Who we are
Limecoal Carriers (Pty) Ltd

Telephone: 021 979 4001
Email: admin@limecoal.co.za
We are the responsible party for the personal information described below.
2. Information Officer

Email: reinhardt@limecoal.co.za
Telephone: 021 979 4001
Direct any question, request or complaint about personal information to the Information Officer.
3. What we collect, and when
We only collect what you choose to send us. There are three ways that happens.
Quote requests
The quote form asks for your name, company, email address, telephone number, and details of the load — service type, origin, destination, cargo description, weight and preferred date.
Driver and subcontractor applications
The "Drive with us" form asks for your name, email address, telephone number, licence code, years of experience, vehicle type and where you are based.
Email and telephone
If you email or phone one of our desks directly, we hold whatever you chose to put in that message.
4. How the forms actually work
This is worth being plain about, because it determines everything else in this notice.
The forms on this website do not send anything to a server. They open your own email program with the message filled in, and you send it yourself. This website has no database, stores nothing, and runs no server-side code. Your details arrive in a Limecoal mailbox in the same way an ordinary email would, and that mailbox is the only place they live.
5. Why we collect it
- To prepare and send you a quote.
- To arrange, carry out and invoice a transport job you have asked for.
- To assess an application to drive for us or subcontract to us.
- To answer a question you have asked.
We do not use your details for marketing, we do not add you to a mailing list, we do not build a profile of you, and we do not sell or rent your information to anyone.
6. Is it voluntary?
Yes. You are not obliged to give us anything. But we cannot quote a load without knowing what and where it is, and we cannot assess a driver application without the licence and experience details, so withholding those means we cannot help you.
7. Who else sees it
Nobody, with three narrow exceptions:
- Where a job requires it — for example consignee details on a delivery note, or shipper details on port and border documentation for a cross-border load.
- Our email is hosted by a third-party provider, which means your message sits on that provider's mail servers in the ordinary course of email working at all.
- Where a law, court order or regulator requires us to hand something over.
We do not transfer personal information outside South Africa for any purpose of our own.
8. How long we keep it
Quote requests and enquiries that do not become jobs are cleared from our mailboxes periodically. Where a job goes ahead, the records attached to it are kept for the periods required by South African tax and company law — generally five years — and transport records for as long as we may need them to answer a claim.
9. Keeping it secure
Our mailboxes are password-protected and accessible only to the staff who need them. This website is served over HTTPS. Because we hold no customer database, there is no customer database to breach.
10. Cookies and tracking
This website sets no cookies. It runs no advertising pixels, no third-party trackers and no social media tags. The fonts are served from our own domain rather than from Google, so visiting this site does not tell anyone else that you did.
If we ever add visitor statistics, we will use a tool that counts page views without cookies and without identifying individual people, and we will say so here.
11. Your rights
Under POPIA you may ask us to:
- confirm what personal information we hold about you;
- give you a copy of it;
- correct anything that is wrong or out of date;
- delete it, where we are not required by law to keep it;
- stop processing it.
Email the Information Officer and we will respond within a reasonable period. There is no charge for a correction or deletion. See also our PAIA manual, which sets out the formal procedure for requesting records.
12. Complaints
If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your information, please raise it with the Information Officer first. You also have the right to complain directly to:
The Information Regulator (South Africa)
JD House, 27 Stiemens Street, Braamfontein, Johannesburg 2001
PO Box 31533, Braamfontein, Johannesburg 2017

13. Changes
If we change how we handle personal information we will update this page and change the date at the top of it.
